The Kahn ranch has so much to offer, we are back to the pond where the Series 3 Water Blind & Series 4 Land marks were run. The line is placed on top of a hill over looking an island pond and a large serpent-like shaped pond. The mat is facing Southeast and the wind is lightly whispering out of the Northwest 2-3 mph. The sun is high in the sky and it is a balmy 72'F. The test is a water quad with three of the four dead bird guns stations retiring. This test is averaging 9 minutes a dog. The first bird to start the test is situated at the far South of the serpent-like pond. This mark is a drake mallard being thrown to the right. We will refer to this mark as the Right Retired mark (RR). The next mark is situated to the left of the RR, we will refer to this mark as the middle retired (MR). The (MR) gunners are doing a double shot then throwing a drake mallard to the left, it is landing in heavy grass at the Southeast end of the serpent-like pond. Both the RR and MR are retiring in a block of staked hay bales. The third bird in situated to the far left of the test. The gunners for this mark row out in a small aluminum boat and anchor in this fabricated duck blind. The drake mallard is thrown to the right landing on an island in medium cover of varying grasses (IB). The final bird to be thrown is situated back to the right and is placed in the middle of the test. This is the only gun station to remain standing out in this quadruple water marking test. They are throwing a hen pheasant that is landing in front of the island pond on the same shoreline the station is sitting(GO). The distances are RR - 213 yds, MR - 281 yds,IB - 123 yds, 109 yds.
