Series 1 & 2 Test Description
The mat is facing due South and situated on a gentle slope. We are looking up a tall hillside where the gunners are placed in a Flower Pot fashion. The first bird to be thrown measures at 145 yds and is a dead rooster pheasant. This gun station sits at the right edge of a large brush pile, throwing slightly angle in to the left. The bird is landing behind the far left edge of the brush pile in medium cover. This gun station retires once the dog is released for the Go-Bird. The Go-Bird is a Flyer Rooster pheasant. This bird is measuring at 221 yds and is thrown to the right. This Rooster is landing on the downward slope of the next hillside. Once the Handler/Dog team completes the marking test they are on their own to run a blind. The blind measures at 270 yds and is situated to the left of the marking test. A Rooster pheasant is placed at the base of a large live oak tree in medium cover. The test takes about six minutes per dog.
