4th Series Water Blind Test Description
The day greets us with clouds in the sky and a drizzle on our noses. The air is brisk at 52'F warming to 70'F. The wind is gentle and out of the Northeast to due East at times. The mat is facing Southwest situated on the downward slope of a hill, there are hay bales sprinkled throughout the field between the handler and the end of the blind. There is a branch lying on the ground at the top of this gentle slope, the Handlers may not move up to handle until the dog has reached this branch. There is a distinct road on the way to the water which is about 150 yrds away. We have two gunners seated at the waters edge. These gunners begin the test by standing to sluice the water deep and left of their station as you face the test. The Handlers have been instructed to have all four paws of the dog on the point at some time or another. This is a meaty blind with many factors for the Handlers and dog to negotiate, total distance of this water blind is 245 yrds. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!
